On Friday Seven News Brisbane opened with an acknowledgment of the 17 years of service by esteemed presenter Sharyn Ghidella.
Her sudden axing was not the way any popular and long term presenter should have been treated, but it was Ghidella who (understandably) chose not to take up the offer of a final bulletin.
Max Futcher described her as “A true professional, an accomplished journalist and for all of us here, a friend and mentor and my good mate.”
He added, “Sharyn leaves with our respect, our admiration and wishes for an amazing future. Love you Shaz.”
Futcher will present the news solo for the immediate future, but it isn’t clear if other changes may be ahead.
