For those watching Amazing Railway Adventures: Nick Knowles, a second season will begin this week in a new Saturday timeslot.

This is a five part travel series.

Nick Knowles sets off on a series of globe-trotting trips by train through incredible landscapes.

In series 2 he visits Italy, hopping from volcano to volcano on an epic train trip from Naples to Sicily. In Transylvania, he follows in the footsteps of Vlad the Impaler. Then there’s a tale of three beautiful cities – Prague, Bratislava and Budapest. Nick finds the fastest and greenest trains in this series in Morocco, riding the rails from Tangier to Marrakech, before heading to Slovenia and Croatia where he glories in the Roman ruins at Split.

Season Two, Episode One:
Nick’s journey begins in Prague, where he learns about the city’s remarkable 600-year-old astronomical clock from its keeper. Nick’s second train takes him across the border into Hungary, where he discovers how Swabian culture is being preserved. Then in Budapest, Nick takes a journey on a steam railway. At just over seven miles long it’s the world’s longest railway run by children (under adult supervision). Discovering these impressive young ticket sellers, guards and their colleagues makes for an enchanting adventure.

Saturday, 20 July at 7.30pm on SBS.
