Beach-goers in Perth are warned to take care in the water this morning after a shark attack in Stirling yesterday.

A male out for a surf was bitten by a shark at about 5.35pm at Trigg Beach.

It’s believed the shark was small in size.

The species is unknown.

People are urged to take note of any signage posted, and to exercise extra caution in the Trigg Beach area.

Stay informed of shark activity on the SharkSmart website or app, and on Surf Life Saving WA’s X feed.

Anybody who spots a shark near the beach is urged to report it to water police on 08 9442 8600.
