A Sydney Trains customer service attendant is heading to the Olympics as part of the Australian archery team.
Peter Boukouvalas, 25, will leave his post at St Peters station tonight, one of two Aussie archers heading to Paris 2024.
The customer service attendant started archery in his final year of high school in 2016 and says he can’t quite believe he’s going to the Olympics.

“It’s pretty surreal, I don’t think it’s hit me fully yet – it’s been quite a journey,” he said.
“At the end of the day, it’s anyone’s game, you just don’t know what’s gonna happen.
“My goal is to come home with some hardware, but ultimately, I want to know that I gave it my all.”

Boukouvalas said his manager Jason had been a big supporter of his Olympic ambitions.
“I felt like a proud father when Peter told me his news,” Jason said.
“I wish him all the best and I believe he is going to come home with a medal.”
The Olympian’s next goal is to further his career with Sydney Trains by becoming a station duty manager when he returns home from Paris.
His eyes are also set on Brisbane 2032.
