Six people, believed to include children, have been rushed to hospital after a serious two-car collision south of Adelaide.

Police said a car and a ute collided on Victor Harbor Road, near the intersection of Mosquito Hill Road in Mount Jagged about 2.45pm today.

Three people were inside each car and one woman was airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

It’s believed young teens and children were among the injured.

Major Crash investigators were sent to the scene, about 55 kilometres south of Adelaide.

Victor Harbor Road was closed to traffic in both directions between Goolwa Road and Hindmarsh Tiers Road.

Drivers were being advised to take an alternate route via Pages Flat Road.

The crash came just hours after a woman and child suffered life-threatening injuries following a head-on crash near the state’s border.
