Foxtel / Binge drama High Country has enjoyed a solid launch in the UK on BBC1.

In a 9:10pm Saturday timeslot the show drew 1.9m viewers with a 17.9% share.

That was ahead of the second series of Changing Ends at 1m (9.6%), and feature film The King’s Man to 1.1m (12.8%) across its near three hours.

Wimbledon 2024 netted 790,000 (7.6%) across its four hours from 6.30pm.

While the eight-part crime drama was down in comparison The Secrets She Keeps at 3m in 2020, it was during a pandemic lockdown. High Country was comfortably ahead of that drama’s second series launch of 1.4m in 2022.

Jo Porter Managing Director of Curio Pictures said, “It’s fantastic for all Australian storytellers to see our series reach international prime time audiences in such large numbers. We are very proud of High Country and delighted it’s been so enthusiastically embraced in the UK.”
