An emergency is unfolding at a train station in Sydney’s south after a man and a child were killed in a tragic accident.

Emergency services attended Carlton Railway Station today after reports a pram – carrying two children – had rolled from the platform about 12.25pm today.

A toddler and an adult died at the scene.

Another toddler and a woman were not injured, and are being assessed by paramedics.

A crime scene has been established but the incident is not believed to be suspicious.

In a post to X, police urged the public is to avoid the area.

“The investigation is ongoing,” police said.

Sydney trains said services are not running between Wolli Creek and Hurstville on the T4 Eastern Suburbs and Illawarra Line due to an incident requiring emergency services.

“Bus companies have been contacted to provide replacement services, but these buses are not yet on site.

“Passengers are advised to delay their trip and make alternative arrangements.”
