How does it feel to be a Gold Logie nominee for 2024?
JM: It feels exactly how you think it would feel. It is surreal. I started on Australian TV in 1985. Could this be the year I take home my first ever Logie?
What’s been the highlight of your TV work over the past year?
JM: Highlights? Getting to work alongside my dear friend Robert Irwin has been more of a life highlight. Work highlight, of course, is still having a job.
Give us your best campaign lobbying… why should viewers vote for you?
JM: Honestly, I am no more deserving than any of the other nominees. I would love to win the Gold, but I only have to wait about another 3 years and I will be considered for the Hall of Fame. I would love to have any Logie, no matter what the colour.
If you should be lucky enough to win, where will the award go?
JM: On a (to be) purpose built plinth at the front door of my private home. I may take it on a trip around the world, like the Melbourne Cup. Break out the cotton gloves guys.
If not you… then who?
JM: Robert. Because I am not just comfortable in the spotlight I also love refracted light.
