Security footage has captured the dramatic moment a 23-year-old man stumbled into a south Brisbane petrol station after reportedly being shot in the head.

Police believe the man was dumped at the entrance of a Coles Express service station on Tamborine Street in Logan just after 5am on Sunday.

CCTV obtained exclusively by 9News shows staff members rush to his aide while on the phone to emergency services.

The man was taken to Princess Alexandra where he remains in an induced coma in critical condition.

One worker inside the store at the time of the incident spoke with 9News on the condition of anonymity. 

“He had severe facial injuries including to his eye socket. He came and asked for a Taxi and I said ‘are you sure you don’t want an ambulance?'” they said.

The staff member said the victim went outside to the restroom before he returned to the store.

“He’s come back in asking for an ambulance because he kept repeating ‘I’m going to die, I’m going to die’,” they said.

Detectives later informed the worker that the man had sustained a gunshot wound to the back of his head.

No arrests of charges have been laid.

Police are continuing investigations to determine where the man was shot and who may be responsible.
