Two pilots have died in a horror helicopter collision in Western Australia’s Kimberley region.

The helicopters were reportedly mustering cattle when they collided shortly after take-off near Mount Anderson Station in Camballin about 6.20am (AWST) today.

Police said both pilots – a 29-year-old man and a 30-year-old man – died at the scene.

The pilots were the sole occupants of the choppers.

A number of police and other emergency service crews remain at the scene.

The Australian Transport Safety Bureau has been notified and an investigation into the incident is under way. 

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
