Police are investigating after a body was found on the side of a road, north of Port Douglas, Queensland.
Emergency crews were called to Junction Road, Mossman after a passing motorist spotted the dead woman just before 6.30pm yesterday.
The 37-year-old local woman was declared dead at the scene and the Queensland Police Forensic Crash Unit is now investigating a suspected hit-run.

Investigators are asking anyone who was travelling on the road between 6.15-6.40pm and who may have dashcam or security footage to contact Crime Stoppers.
