Nearing the halfway mark of the Olympic Games Paris 2024 as Australia’s gold rush continues, we head into a mammoth slate of sports on Day 7, live and free on the 9Network and 9Now.
The race is on as the Athletics Track and Field officially gets underway with its opening day at Stade de France. Competing in the first five events in the Men’s Decathlon is Tokyo 2020 bronze medalist Ashley Moloney, in the Women’s High Jump Tokyo 2020 silver medalist Nicola Olyslagers will be looking to one-up her best in Paris alongside fellow Aussie Eleanor Patterson, as well as round one of the Women’s 100m with Ella Connolly and Bree Masters.
From the track over to the pool, the action doesn’t stop, with gold medalist and Queen of the Backstroke Kaylee McKeown looking toward her next event, the 200m Individual Medley. All eyes will also be on the 800m Freestyle with gold medalist Ariarne Titmus joining forces in this event against Lani Pallister.
In the rowing, Annabelle McIntyre and Jessica Morrison will be fighting for redemption and a place on the podium in the Women’s Pair Final, after missing out on a medal in this event in Tokyo 2020.
It’s a family affair as the Fox sisters take over the water both competing in the new Olympic discipline of Kayak Cross in the Canoe Slalom. After already securing two gold medals, Jess Fox will be looking to pull off the ultimate feat of a treble, alongside her sister Noemie Fox who is making her Olympic Games debut.
In the team sports, the Boomers face Greece for their next game, the Kookaburras take on India in the Men’s Hockey and the Stingers are up against Canada in the Women’s Water Polo.
