A 19-year-old man has been charged over the alleged attempted abduction of two children in the Northern Territory.
Police alleged he approached a young girl as she was walking to the toilets at the Sports Grounds on the Stuart Highway in Katherine about 6.30pm on Thursday.
He then allegedly grabbed her arm and attempted to drag her away but she broke away.

The young girl ran back to her parents to report the alleged abduction.
Detective senior sergeant Michael Ordelman at the time said it was a “frightening incident” for the young girl and commended her on her actions.
Police arrested the 19-year-old in the area and have since received reports he allegedly approached another girl in a similar way around the same time.
The man has today been charged with two counts of attempted abduction and two counts of aggravated assault.

He was been remanded in custody to appear in Darwin Local Court on Tuesday.
“We would like to thank the large number of people who have come forward with footage that has proven very helpful in this investigation,” Ordelman said.
Police believe there may have been further children approached by this man at the Sports Grounds in the late afternoon of Thursday.
