No surprises that Nine’s Olympics broadcast has drawn massive crowds, with Australia killing it at the pool.
Nine finished the week with a massive 54.6% share, blitzing the competition. This surpasses Seven’s first week of 49.8% share for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
The biggest single night proved to be Sunday with a 58.9% share.
The biggest audience was also on Night 2 at 2.5m average while 9Now records have tumbled, with the highest minutes consumed in a single day of any Australian broadcaster ever.
Of course, at year’s end two weeks of Games will need to be separated from annual share.
Their success came at the expense of all other broadcasters, including Network 10 which marked 60 years on air on Thursday, with an intimate bash at The Project studio in Melbourne.
