A 39-year-old man is fighting for life and a search is under way for three men after a fiery crash at Padstow in Sydney‘s south-west.

Police tonight released images of the men officers believe can assist with their inquiries following the crash.

Emergency services found a white Audi alight about 10.40pm yesterday, after the vehicle collided with a silver Nissan on Davies Road.

“Suddenly we just hear a huge smash,” one witness said.

“It was like an action movie, all the smoke and flames,” another witness said.

Police were told the occupants of the Audi, believed to be three men, left the scene after the crash.

They are believed to be aged in their mid-to-late 20s.

The Nissan driver, a 39-year-old man, was taken to hospital in a critical condition and was undergoing surgery.

“Possibly due to the speed of the white Audi, a collision has occurred,” NSW Police Inspector Jason Hogan said.

Police said the three men ran down to a side street, where residents told 9News they saw them enter one of the homes asking for help.

They haven’t been spotted since.

“To leave the scene of any crash is not a good thing and especially when someone is seriously injured,” Hogan said.
