Two more men have been charged over the alleged bashing robbery of an Innaloo grandfather last month.

The men are accused of assaulting the 68-year-old with poles and a sawn-off shotgun before making off with an estimated $50,000 in gold jewellery.

TRG, WA’s most elite policing squad of tactical operators, helped make the arrest in Joondalup yesterday.

Today, Rhys James Hayman was granted bail and his co-accused Christopher Charles Hudston remanded in custody.

Police were called to King George Street in Innaloo on July 23 after reports a group of men had forced entry to a home about 4.15am.

The 68-year-old was allegedly violently attacked as he slept as the group forcibly removing jewellery from his wrist, neck and ankles in what police allege was a targeted attack on the local identity.

The man managed to alert a neighbour who contacted police but the men allegedly fled the scene.

A 29-year-old Butler man was charged late last month with aggravated home burglary, aggravated armed robbery and aggravated assault occasioning bodily harm.

He is due to appear in Perth Magistrates Court in September.
