Police have arrested one man after busting an alleged active drug lab in Sydney’s west.

Organised crime detectives executed a search warrant in Silverdale at 11.30am today.

During the search, officers allegedly uncovered an active clandestine laboratory and seized several items including firearm parts, a large amount of powder and liquid which they allege are drugs.

They also allegedly found a cannabis farm with a number of marijuana plants, and chemicals believed to be used in the manufacture of prohibited drugs.

Specialist police and Fire and Rescue NSW were called in to assess the size of the lab and dismantle it. 

At 2.30pm today, police arrested a 30-year-old man in relation to the discovery.

He was taken to Campsie Police Station where he is expected to be charged. 

The search warrant came after detectives identified an alleged criminal network importing glassware ”consistent with the manufacture of prohibited drugs.”

All items seized will go under forensic examination.
