Police are searching for a man who allegedly attempted to steal a woman’s car in Melbourne last week.
The woman was sitting in her parked black Maserati SUV in Oakleigh about 6pm on Friday, August 2.
Police allege she was approached, dragged out of her vehicle, and assaulted by an unknown man about 6pm on Friday, August 2.

The woman, a Wheelers Hill resident, managed to escape and alert passers-by.
She then ran inside the restaurant for help.
She was taken to hospital for treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said that nearby witnesses located the man in the woman’s vehicle and attempted to stop him.
One of the witnesses, a 40-year-old man, sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

CCTV footage captured the alleged offender fleeing from the scene on foot towards Atkinson Street, jumping over a fence in the process.
Police released a photo of the man they believe can help with their inquiries.
He was last seen in all-black clothes.
Police have urged anyone with information about the alleged assault to come forward.
