A New South Wales prison guard has been arrested after allegedly sexually assaulting an inmate.
Police received reports that a 36-year-old male correctional officer had allegedly assaulted a 28-year-old female inmate at a correctional facility in Wellington, in the state’s west, between June 18 and July 30.
The prison guard was arrested at the correctional facility at 8.40am yesterday.

The 36-year-old was taken to Wellington Police Station where he was charged with four offences, including three counts of aggravated sexual assault – victim under the authority of offender and engaging in a relationship with an inmate.
He has been refused bail and will appear in Dubbo Local Court today.
