A young woman has undergone surgery after her face was slashed in what she calls an “unprovoked glassing” in a pub in Perth’s north.

Taiya Sampson was left with a deep gash on her cheek, stitches in her forehead and blood smeared on her face after she was allegedly glassed in an Alkimos pub.

Her accused attacker from Two Rocks, about 20 kilometres further north, faced court on Saturday on a charge of unlawful wounding.

The incident happened at The Landing.

Sampson, 20, said she hadn’t been drinking when she sat down and was allegedly attacked by another woman, 20, who she knew, with a wine glass that slashed her face, narrowly missing her eye.

Sampson’s family claimed staff didn’t call an ambulance and the alleged attacker was allowed to stay in the pub. The venue disputed that claim.
