The ‘first’ day of post-Olympics ratings (to be accurate, there was still a Closing Ceremony) has proven a winner for Nine with the network claiming a run of timeslot wins across primetime.

The Block is off an running topping entertainment at 1.11m in National TV Audience -that could spell months of trouble for rival shows.

Dancing with the Stars concluded with 889,000 then 7:30 (753,000), Australian Story (749,000) and Hunted (516,000).

Four Corners expose on Seven drew a huge 832,000 viewers then Media Watch (709,000) and Have You Been Paying Attention? (602,000).

Olympics Closing Ceremony averaged 577,000 for the primetime replay and 309,000 for the Live broadcast. The later appeared to give the Today show a huge shot in the arm, but it may require some adjustment for actual broadcast given the event ran til around 8:30am AEST.

Nine News was #1 at 1.45 with further wins by A Current Affair (1.25m) and Tipping Point (795,000).

Seven News scored 1.41m with Home & Away second best for the night in entertainment at 915,000. The Chase was 692,000. Alert: Missing Persons Unit managed 210,000.

ABC News drew 910,000 then Hard Quiz (406,000), Q+A (346,000) and Antiques Roadshow (234,000).

The Project scored 370,000 for 10. 10 News First was 345,000 then Deal or No Deal (295,000) and Ghosts (220,000).

On SBS it was SBS World News (216,000 / 156,000), Robson Green’s Weekend Escapes (116,000), Into the Gobi Desert with Nick Knowles (98,000), Mastermind (93,000) and 24 Hours in Emergency (60,000).
