Perth man Shane Ramsey has been left critically injured and in a coma following a moped accident while holidaying in Bali.

He has been left with a fractured skull, bleeding in the brain, blood in his lungs and severe brain damage, according to an online fundraiser for him.

“Shane has undertaken the neurosurgery and is now in a coma,” fundraiser organiser Amyleigh Mitchell said.

Ramsey, who works as a carpenter, had just recently completed his apprenticeship.

His friends have flooded social media, throwing their support behind the “lovely”, “polite” and “considerate” man.

“I hope he pulls through, just tragic,” one user wrote.

“This is heartbreaking,” another said.

“Get well soon my bro,” a third added.

Ramsey doesn’t have travel insurance and his hospital bills are starting to pile up, sparking the launch of an online fundraiser to help cover the costs and bring him home.

“We just want to bring Shane home as soon as possible to be closer to all his friends and family,” Mitchell said.

The fundraiser, which aims to cover his surgery, hospital stay and evacuation flight home, has raised $54,000 of its $750,000 goal.

Bali has cracked down on tourists riding motorbikes and mopeds, following a spate of accidents and traffic violations.

Governor Wayan Koster went one step further last year, proposing that all tourists be banned entirely from renting out scooters.

Although, this is not yet law.

Currently, tourists require an international driver’s license when driving a rental.
