New Australian crime drama Human Error starring Leeanna Walsman (Wentworth, Underbelly: Badness) will premiere on Nine in September.
The cast also features Matt Day, Stephen Peacocke, Rob Collins, Steve Bisley and Rosie Mitchell.
Inspired by real events, the six-part series unveils the turbulent life of Detective Holly O’Rourke (Walsman) and her homicide team as they navigate a shocking murder investigation that threatens to destroy her career, her family and her faith in justice.
As she scrambles to redeem her personal and professional reputation, Holly and her detectives uncover a criminal conspiracy that will change their lives forever.
When a suburban mother, Sonia Mathews, is murdered in her driveway in front of her son all the evidence points to a gangland hit. But who ordered the execution-style killing in broad daylight?
Holly’s search for answers takes an unexpected turn when she discovers that a fellow police officer had a motive to murder Sonia. As the investigation heats up, Holly’s team uncovers a web of crime for which murder is just the tip of the iceberg.
Her marriage to Luke (Matt Day) is in crisis, she is hiding a life-changing secret from fellow detectives, Dylan McKenzie (Stephen Peacocke) and Sergeant Gavin Butterfield (Rob Collins), and her daughter Alice (Rosie Mitchell) is causing endless grief. Then there’s her father Bear (Steve Bisley), a retired detective full of unwanted advice, who she relies on for childcare and moral support.
As Holly and her team race to catch the killers, can she also win back the trust of the people she loves?
Human Error was created by Greg Haddrick (Underbelly, Janet King) and Samantha Winston (Love Me, Rush). The series is a Roadshow Rough Diamond production for the 9Network, with major production investment from Screen Australia in association with Nine and VicScreen. International distribution will be handled by ITV Studios.
