Relief payments from the federal government will start flowing into bank accounts next month, offering households struggling with cost of living reprieve.

Power bill relief of $300 dollars will be automatically applied to most residential accounts across the country in the form of four quarterly $75 credits.

AGL and Origin Energy have processed the payments in NSW and customers should already be able to see the credit on their online accounts.

For those billed monthly, the relief may have already been applied.

Energy Australia will automatically apply the rebate by the end of this month.

For renters, almost one million households will benefit from a boost to rental payments.

Those receiving Commonwealth Rental Assistance will see a 10 per cent increase increase from September 20.

There’ll be savings at the pharmacy too with patients to receive twice the amount of medication for the cost of a single prescription.

From September 1, general patients will be able save up to $180 a year while concession card holders will save up to $43.80 a year per medicine.

The change will apply to about 300 medicines on Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme.
