A 65-year-old man who was killed in an alleged attack in Adelaide was helping a woman fleeing from domestic violence, witnesses have said.
A 29-year-old man had allegedly attacked the woman before she fled to her 65-year-old neighbour’s house in Parafield Gardens at 10.30pm on Thursday.
The 29-year-old man then followed her there, allegedly attacking neighbour William Brassil in his own front yard, according to witness reports.

Witnesses allege he threw a television and pavers at Brassil, rendering him unconscious.
A nurse who lives nearby reportedly dragged Brassil into his home, performing CPR to try and save him before paramedics arrived.
Despite her efforts and the efforts of paramedics, the 65-year-old died at the scene.
The 29-year-old man was arrested soon after and was charged with manslaughter on Friday afternoon.
Police said the men were not known to each other, but the woman was living next door with her boyfriend, the 29-year-old man.
The 29-year-old remains behind bars until his next court appearance.
