A green space at the former home of TCN9 Willoughby has been named Henderson Park in memory of legendary news presenter Brian Henderson.

Nine’s Sydney presenter Peter Overton, joined by Mardi Henderson and Georgie Gardner, paid tribute to ‘Hendo’ at an official dedication yesterday on the three-hectare Artarmon Road site now home to over 400 apartments. Henderson read the news on Nine for 45 years and hosted Bandstand.

The site of the original studios was home to iconic programs such as The Paul Hogan Show, The Mike Walsh Show and 60 Minutes.

A green patch was once the site of the Nine helipad.

A few things were left behind, such as a portion of the transmission tower now in a Children’s Playground and a set of goal posts in a TCN-9 car park where The Footy Show often filmed.

You can see a construction update from last October here.
