Former Seven News reporter Robert Ovadia, who is locked in a legal battle with his former “evil” employer, has hit back at the network in an Instagram post.
Whilst Ovadia concedes, “I can be crass, I can be blunt, I can be obnoxious, my humour is dark,” he adds, “20 years surrounded by trauma and danger will do all of that to you – but I do NOT mistreat women.”
Posting several text exchanges he demonstrates private support from with an unnamed former female colleagues claims and suggests the “Seven Propaganda Unit” is seeking to scare him off a court battle.
He also claims to have received a death threat.
Ovadia was sacked by the Seven network following allegations of “inappropriate conduct” in June. He denies those claims.
Last week Seven told the Federal Court thirteen women have come forward with claims following his dismissal by the network, but is yet to provide evidence.
Ovadia also indicates he “put up roughly 27 testimonials from people as to my character” but Four Corners “only said that I published three messages of support. 100% deceitful manipulative hatchet job.”
He observes, “I just cannot believe how my life has unravelled because of it.”
But he adds, “At least Four Corners’ laboured hatchet job got one thing right – the Seven Network is diabolical.”
