A teacher at Sydney’s Knox Grammar School has been sacked after he was charged for allegedly grooming a teenager online.
William Gulson was a former student at the elite school and went on to become a teacher there — a role he has held for more than three years.
But tonight, the 27-year-old is out on bail after facing Parramatta Local Court.

When he was asked by reporters how he intends to plead, he said: “No comment at this stage, thank you.”
Earlier this month, police begun an investigation into allegations Gulson had groomed a 15-year-old online before arresting him in Wahroonga yesterday afternoon.
Police alleged his phone shows an exchange with the victim where he asks: “Do you find it hot you’re the same age as some of my students?”
Another alleged exchange refers to a witness who confronted him saying the victim is in year 9 and 15 years of age, to which Gulson replies: “Sorry dude, I feel super conflicted.”

The school has consequently fired the teacher following the news.
“… the teacher concerned was immediately removed from the school and his employment was terminated,” the school said in an email sent to parents yesterday.
“There is no other individual at risk and that there is no evidence that this behaviour extended beyond the online environment.”
Gulson has been banned from using the internet, dating apps and social media until he fronts court again in two weeks.
He is also not allowed to interact with anyone under the age of 18 and enter or loiter near Knox Grammar School.
