It’s been a horror night on NSW roads, with three separate car crashes killing two people and injuring five more on the Central Coast.

Police were called to Empire Bay Road in Empire Bay at 8.30pm after a two-car collision.

Two cars travelling in opposite directions crashed head-on, police said.

A 20-year-old woman, the driver of one car, died at the scene.

The second car involved allegedly left the roadway and drove into an embankment.

The female driver in her 30s became trapped before Fire and Rescue NSW freed her.

She was treated by paramedics and was taken to hospital in a serious condition.

Police are investigating the circumstances of the crash.

Further up the coast, a man was killed in two-car crash in Forresters Beach.

A sedan and utility collided while heading in the opposite direction at 6.45pm yesterday on The Entrance Road, Forresters Beach.

The 53-year-old driver of the sedan died at the scene.

The 30-year-old driver of the ute and his passenger, aged 29, were treated by paramedics before being taken to hospital in a stable condition.

The circumstances surrounding the crash are under investigation.

Inland at Gosford, a multi-car crash injured two people.

Four cars allegedly crashed in a rear-end collision at 10.30pm on the Central Coast Highway, near Racecourse Road, West Gosford.

One driver, a 76-year-old man, was treated by paramedics and was airlifted to hospital in a serious condition.

A second driver, aged 40, was treated at the scene before she was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Two other drivers were not harmed.

Investigations into the circumstances around the crash are ongoing.
