People with ongoing sinus issues are four times more likely to have anxiety, and two times more likely to have depression, the study claims.
Likewise, the risk of developing a long-running sinus infection was two times higher in people with anxiety and 1.5 times higher in people with depression.
According to the study, chronic rhinosinusitis is the inflammation of the sinonasal mucosa.
A patient has to experience nasal drainage, facial pain/pressure, nasal obstruction, and hyposmia for at least 12 to be diagnosed with chronic rhinosinusitis.
