The Emmy Awards takes place on Monday (Australian time), being the second event in the same year, due to strikes delaying the 2023 ceremony.
The last ceremony celebrated 75 years and cast reunions for All in the Family, The Sopranos, Cheers, Martin, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Grey’s Anatomy and Ally McBeal went down so well there is chatter more could take place next week.
The hot tip is to celebrate the 25th anniversary of The West Wing. So far Martin Sheen, Allison Janney, Dulé Hill, Richard Schiff, Janel Moloney and Jimmy Smits have been announced as participants / presenters.
There also looks to be a Happy Days 50th reunion with Ron Howard and Henry Winkler and potentially Murphy Brown with announced presenter Candice Bergen. Also confirmed are Meredith Baxter (Family Ties), Zach Braff (Scrubs), Don Johnson (Miami Vice) and Dick Van Dyke (Mary Tyler Moore Show).
It is also the 30th anniversary of Friends one week after the Emmys -Matthew Perry was already remembered in the last In Memoriam tribute.
Eugene Levy and Dan Levy will host the 76th Emmy Awards 10am Monday September 16 on Famous (Ch 115) and Binge.
