A product recall has been issued for two fan heaters over fears the appliance may overheat and catch fire.

Olimpia Splendid Australia’s Caldo Relax and Caldo Whisper fan heaters was sold nationally and online through a range of stores.

The affected Caldo Relax model has the code 99316 and power setting 220-240V, 50-60Hz, 1800-2000W.

The affected Caldo Whisper model comes with the code VH-2000 and power setting of 220-240V, 50Hz, 2000W.

Both codes can be found on the label on the side of the heater.

The heaters were available for sale between July 1, 2019 and June 24, 2024.

“This product does not comply with the relevant electrical standard,” the recall notice said.

“The heater may overheat and catch fire.

“There is a risk of serious burn injury and property damage if the heater overheats and catches fire.”

Consumers should stop using these heaters immediately, unplug it from power and return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund.
