A woman out on a walk has died after being hit by a car in Brisbane‘s south early this morning.
Police believe the Mitsubishi struck the woman at the intersection of Kessels and Riawena roads in Coopers Plains at 4.50am before she found down an embankment.
Detectives are reviewing footage from a nearby home.

“The sound of the rims breaking, smashing everywhere, it was just a huge bang,” witness Joel McCallum said.
“When I saw the footage and I saw the person walking, my heart sank a little bit.
“It’s a daunting and confronting thing to see.”
The Mitsubishi driver, a 19-year-old man, was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police are in the process of identifying the woman and notifying her family.
Detectives are investigating whether speed was a factor in the crash.
