Screen Australia has appointed Louise Gough as its new Director of Narrative Content.
Gough previously served as Head of Development at Screen Australia from 2021 to 2023. Most recently, she was the Executive Producer for Samantha Strauss’ Picking Scabs, a collaborative venture with See-Saw Films.
With a 30-year career spanning broadcast, production, funding bodies, and theatre environments, she brings a wealth of experience to her new role. Her dedication to nurturing talent and guiding stories from development through to market and audience is well recognised in the industry.
Screen Australia’s Chief Executive Officer Deirdre Brennan said, “Louise’s extensive experience and passion for Australian storytelling in all its forms, makes her an invaluable addition to our team. Her leadership will be instrumental in driving forward Screen Australia’s commitment to fostering content that truly reflects and connects us.”

Gough will report directly to Chief Operating Officer Grainne Brunsdon. She will commence on 30 September 2024.
