A man has been charged after allegedly attempting to import a child-like sex doll into NSW and being in possession of child abuse material.
Australian Border Force began an investigation after locating a shipment containing a child-like sex doll at the Sydney Container Examination Facility in August.
Further investigations led to a search warrant at a home in Waratah on September 3, where a number of items were seized for forensic examination.

Officers returned to the same home with NSW Police at 5am on Friday, where a 42-year-old man was arrested.
He was charged by the ABF for the importation of a child-like sex doll, and was also charged by NSW Police with two counts of possessing child abuse material.
The maximum pentalty for the alleged importation is a fine up to $782,500, 10 years imprisonment or both.
He was refused bail to appear at Newcastle Local Court on Friday 20 September 2024.
