Rumours of Seven courting Nick Riewoldt for its AFL team have proven true, with the former FOX Footy presenter to join Seven.
Riewoldt’s contract with FOX Footy expired in 2022 after which he relocated to the USA with family. He also won Celebrity MasterChef on 10 in 2021.
Seven confirms the 336 gamer and six-time Trevor Barker Award winner will be part of the 7AFL team for season 2025 and beyond, featuring across Seven’s weekly AFL match broadcasts and “soon-to-be-announced” mid-week programming.
It comes amid a flurry of reports about the network ramping up its mid-week AFL content in 2025 with Kane Cornes, Caroline Wilson, Craig Hutchison (yet to be confirmed by the network).
“After living in Cath’s hometown of Houston for two years, working full-time in stadium and event technology with PMY, we are all really looking forward to coming back to Melbourne and joining the Seven family,” Riewoldt said.
“I’m excited about joining 7AFL and being part of the new vision for the network’s football coverage and programming in 2025 and beyond.
“Seven has assembled a great team and I cannot wait to get started and working alongside the team in bringing the game directly to footy fans all over Australia,” he said.
