Magi Pictures, a new film production company founded by respected producer / director Michael Rymer and writer Shirley Pierce, has based itself on the Gold Coast.
Michael Rymer (Battlestar Galactica, Hannibal, American Horror Story, Man In The High Castle, Angel Baby, Deadline Gallipoli, Picnic at Hanging Rock, Fires) partners with US writer Shirley Pierce (Dinosaur, Meet the Robinsons, The Saddle Club, Mortified).
Magi Pictures will specialise in developing and producing film and television projects that combine authentic Australian storytelling with global appeal. The company is committed to creating content that entertains, inspires, and drives positive change while boosting the local film industry.
“We’re thrilled to be setting up shop on the Gold Coast,” says Rymer. “This region has always been a hub of creativity, and we’re excited to tap into the local talent pool and showcase the stunning locations Queensland has to offer.”
Pierce adds, “Our goal is to tell uniquely Australian stories that can travel the world.”
