Two men have been charged over an alleged stabbing murder in Sydney’s west earlier this year.

At about 1.45pm on Saturday, July 20, police were called to Bangor Street in Guildford after reports a man had been attacked.

At about 2.15pm, police were then called to Westmead Hospital, after a man presented there with stab wounds in his abdomen.

Police attended the hospital and were told the 37-year-old man had been chased by a group of unknown men before he was attacked and stabbed.

He was driven to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition and died later the same day.

Following investigations, detectives executed a search warrant on a hotel room in Ryde, at about 8am Thursday, July 26.

They arrested a 23-year-old man and charged with murder and possessing an encrypted communications device.

He has been refused bail and will next appear in court on November 21.

Another 23-year-old man was arrested at Silverwater prison at about 11am yesterday.

He was charged with murder and being part of a criminal group.

He was refused bail and will appear in court today.

Police are also seeking public help to identify two men seen in Merrylands at about 1.40pm on the day of the alleged murder.

The first man is described as being of African appearance, in his early to mid 20s, and about 195cm tall.

The second man is described as being of Pacific Islander/Maori appearance, in his early to mid 20s, and of a muscular build.

The two men were last seen walking away from a silver Toyota Aurion sedan.
