He was airlifted by helicopter to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.

The second male skydiver was left with a leg injury and was transported to Princess Alexandra Hospital.

The incident on Sunday comes after a skydiver was killed in Queensland in August following a mishap with a parachute.

Liam Newman, 25, was skydiving near a rural property in Tarawera, about 260km west of Toowoomba, on August 27, when emergency services were called.

Newman was treated for life-threatening injuries and he died at the scene.
