A Jetstar flight en route to Bali was forced to turn back after the onboard toilets stopped working this morning.

Flight JQ125 headed for Denpasar in Bali departed from Adelaide Airport at 7am and was diverted to Adelaide 2 hours and 37 minutes into the flight.

The plane touched back down in Adelaide about 9.40am.

The toilets had stopped working and wouldn’t flush mid-flight, Jetstar confirmed to 9news.com.au.

The broken toilets could not be fixed en route and passengers were informed the flight would be returning to Adelaide so engineers could address the issue.

Jetstar said passengers were moved to a replacement aircraft and the second flight departed Adelaide at 11am.

The passengers are due to arrive in Denpasar at 1.40pm local time.
