Seven screens the 2024 Bathurst 1000 this weekend Live from Mount Panorama.
Leading Seven’s coverage are Mel McLaughlin, alongside motorsport expert Sunrise‘s Mark Beretta, who will broadcast live from Mount Panorama across the three days.
Joining them are Supercars co-driver and 7Motorsport host, Jack Perkins when away from the wheel.
Also featuring are Rally champion Molly Taylor, Emma Freedman, reporter Chris Stubbs and journalist Aaron Noonan with historical statistics and insights.
Supercars icons Mark Skaife and Neil Crompton will lead the commentary of the Supercars premier event, with Molly Taylor, Mark Larkham, Chad Neylon and Riana Crehan reporting from pit lane.
Seven’s Executive Producer, Motorsport, Angela Rampal, said: “Following a massive month of sport on Seven and 7plus Sport, we cannot wait to present the Bathurst 1000, which is without a doubt the biggest weekend on the Australian motorsport calendar.
“This year’s Supercars Championship is shaping up to be one of the most open and exciting of recent times, which makes choosing a winner for this year’s Bathurst 1000 near impossible. Will it be current leader Will Brown taking out his first ever Bathurst title, or will we see his close competitor in Chaz Mostert claim his third win on the mountain?
“Once again, Seven has lined up an incredible broadcast team to lead viewers through 26 hours of live and free coverage, including hosts Mark Beretta and Mel McLaughlin, alongside current driver Jack Perkins as he juggles his time behind the wheel and behind the ‘mic for our coverage,” she said.
This is the twelfth year EMG / Gravity Media Australia’s broadcast facilities produces the Race, across more than 175 television cameras on-track, in-car, in the pits, around the track, embedded in concrete kerbs and walls, in the air and across sections of the track on a wire.
Nathan Prendergast, Head of Broadcast, Supercars Media, said: “Supercars is pleased to once again be working with EMG Gravity Media Australia at the Repco Bathurst 1000. Our coverage in 2024 expands to five days on-air with the action beginning Wednesday night with a live show from downtown Bathurst to capture all 26 cars driving into the city from the famous Mt Panorama Circuit along with the finals of the Pirtek Pitstop Challenge. The on-track action starts from 7:30am Thursday and carries through right the way through to the end of the 1000 classic on Sunday, delivering more than 42 ½ hours of coverage from the Mountain.”
Ben Madgwick, Director, Media Services and Facilities at EMG / Gravity Media Australia said: “All of us at EMG / Gravity Media Australia take great pride in our partnership with Supercars Media. It is the biggest and most complex undertaking in broadcast production in Australia. We are committed to continuing to evolve, innovate and enhance EMG / Gravity Media’s broadcast technologies and production undertakings to capture every moment of this remarkable event.”
