ABC Entertains and ABC Family are the newest multichannels on the block.

ABC Entertains, includes kids content in mornings, and overall is up compared to ABC ME in 2023. Original Australian commissions are few but there are Live at the Malthouse specials coming up.

ABC Kids now shares its channel with ABC Family, dominating in young viewers and original Australian commissions. Bluey remains the success story breaking iview records, while ABC Family has commissioned titles such as Hard Quiz Kids, Teenage Boss: Next Level and more for 2025.

ABC News is Australia’s most watched news channel with the recent Harris v Trump Presidential Debate the biggest drawcard. Upcoming series America, Are You Ok? will screen soon.

ABC is also hinting at further changes around ABC Entertains and ABC News for 2025.

ABC Kids | Family

ABC KIDS:

• The premiere of Bluey: The Sign set the all-time TV broadcast record for ABC Kids channel, watched by 1,513,000 average overnight viewers. It also smashed the record for highest metro episodic result on ABC Kids Channel, with no other ABC programming exceeding this overnight metro result since 2016 (with the exclusion of NYE coverage).
• Australian preschoolers also showed their love for local content, with premieres of Bluey Minisodes, Ginger and the Vegesaurs, Fizzy and Suds and Play School: Big Ted’s Time Machine all performing strongly this year.
• Tabby McTat and Peppa Pig were standouts from our international content.

ABC Family:

Overall ABC iview minutes viewed from multichannel changes for ABC Entertains & ABC Family has doubled, up from approx. 30 million minutes viewed to over 60 million minutes viewed each week
For ABC Family, a broad range of content is driving this performance with the top shows for minutes viewed on ABC iview including Shaun The Sheep, Fresh Off The Boat, BTN Newsbreak, Family Movies and Speechless.
Hard Quiz Kids was the #1 ABC Family show on broadcast and ABC iview during its run.
Since the launch of ABC Family, we have increased our connection with family audiences as children age-up through ABC Kids.
We are continuing to see growth in the early evenings as well as increased ABC iview viewing, driven by shows including The InBESTigators, Little Lunch, Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures, Operation Ouch, The Strange Chores, and family movies.

The range of content mix continuing to deliver week-on-week performance with strong growth on ABC iview in the drama category, driven by titles such as Doctor Who, with continued solid performance of comedy, entertainment, and movies 
Top titles since launch are Guy Montgomery’s Guy Mont Spelling Bee Ep 1 (212,000*) and The Cleaner Ep 1 (180,000*). The Cleaner is currently the second highest performing comedy title on ABC iview for 2024.
