Former Essendon Premiership player Ricky Olarenshaw has been linked to anti-prostitution raids in Bali, that saw two Australians among 11 people arrested.

His Indonesian wife and Melbourne couple Michael and Lynley Le Grand have been accused of operating a spa that offers prostitution services in Bali.

Local police raided two separate spas and seized cash, menus and condoms as evidence.

They alleged the prostitution was being disguised as expensive spa treatments and that one of the businesses was making almost $300,000 a month.

“Based on our investigation and testimony of witnesses and the therapists, most of their customers were foreigners,” a Bali police spokesperson said.

The arrested could face 12 years in Kerobokan Prison.

Olarenshaw is a long-time resident in Bali and is separated from his wife.

Last year, however, they celebrated his 50th birthday together at a playboy mansion-themed party organised by the team from one of the spas targeted in the raid.

It’s understood Olarenshaw and his business partners returned to Australia before the raids.

9News does not suggest Olarenshaw was aware of the allegedly illegal activity.

Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade is providing consular assistance to the Le Grand couple.
