A woman who just scooped a lottery prize worth $4.8m has said she plans to use her winnings to head on a river cruise and donate to charity.

The woman, from Greenacres in Adelaide’s north-east, will also be able to retire after winning $20,000 a month for the next 20 years.

The South Australian resident held the only division one winning entry nationally in Set for Life, on October 12, 2024.

She won $4.8 million paid in monthly instalments of $20,000 over 20 years.

The winner told lottery bosses she had jokingly “prayed to the lotto angels” before the big win.

“It’s going to help me so much,” she told The Lott officials.

“I’ll be able to use it towards retirement and I’ll spoil myself a little bit too.

“I’m definitely booking a river cruise in Amsterdam.

“There are these three charities I like to donate to, and now I can give even more.”

She said when she got an email telling her to check her ticket, she thought it was a scam.

She bought her winning QuickPick entry from Greenacres & Klemzig Newsagency in Greenacres Shopping Centre.

Owner Robert Li said he was “so excited” to sell the winning ticket.
