Lottery officials are on the hunt for a mystery winner who took home almost $1.3 million over the weekend but may not even know it yet.

The elusive player bought their TattsLotto ticket in Tasmania and went on to claim the winning entry in one of the four divisions drawn nationally on Saturday, each with a prize of $1,264,652.43.

The lucky ticket was purchased at the Bicheno Newsagency, in the east coast beachside town of Bicheno but was not registered to a player card.

This means The Lott have no way of notifying the ticketholder of their win and instead must wait for them to check their ticket and come forward.

The Lott spokesperson Matt Hart said he was looking forward to uniting Tasmania’s latest division one winner with their prize.

“It’s likely our latest winner is going about their day as normal with no idea they’ve won division one,” he said.

“We’re urging all players who purchased a TattsLotto ticket from Bicheno Newsagency to check their tickets today.

“Make sure you check your ticket, which could be in your wallet, handbag, fridge door or car glovebox because the winner could be you.”

Tasmanian players have 12 months to claim their major lottery prizes. After that they must claim their winnings directly from the Tasmania treasury and finance office.
