The Wiggles are getting their very first animated series after partnering with Sinking Ship (The Unlisted, Dino Dan, Ghostwriter).
Luke O’Neill, CEO of the Wiggles, said, “For quite some time, the Wiggles have been eager to explore new avenues for expressing our brand through an animated series. We are thrilled to partner with Sinking Ship, a company that shares our vision and will help us expand the brand’s creative reach.”
Carla de Jong, head of co-production at Sinking Ship, added, “What has always impressed us about the Wiggles is not only their deep understanding of the audience but how they have consistently evolved to meet their needs. Moving into animation opens up new creative possibilities that will allow us to connect with preschoolers and families in unique ways. It’s the natural next step in the evolution of the brand.”
The group has sold more than 30 million albums / DVDs and eight million books globally. Whilst ABC screens Wiggles content, no Australian broadcaster has yet been announced, nor any details on which performers might become animated in the series.
