This week on Better Homes & Gardens Graham visits Iwan Suntito-designed residential project, Charlie on the art in Edging, while Johanna + Adam are in Northcote.

Graham – Greening The Urban Lifestyle
City living has many benefits, like being in the heart of the action, but it does have its drawbacks, with limited green space being one of the biggest. Well, Iwan Suntito’s new apartment block connects residents with nature through garden spaces that incorporate lagoons, plants and a multi-layered rainforest, but it’s the 7-storey waterfall and huge vertical garden that is most impressive to Graham. This residential project highlights the importance of green spaces for our mental and emotional wellbeing and points to an exciting sign for the future of apartment living.

Johanna + Adam – Amazing Home: Northcote Car Space Conversion
Living close to the city can be great, but land is hard to come by and expensive. Joh and Adam are going to explore a house that’s taken a small inner-city block, that is so small it was previously only used as a car parking space, and become an award-winning two-bedroom home. With only 4.6 metres of width to play with, attention to detail and clever ideas were a must. Using cutting edge technology, simple concrete and plywood was shaped into high-end curves and waves and the result is a sustainable, unique and unforgettable, small-footprint, three-level home.

Colin – Spring Pizza
Like new house build, a tasty pizza is built on a good base. Colin is going to show you how easy it is to make your own pizza base. He’ll take you through the whole process from activating the yeast to kneading out the dough. But a pizza is nothing without delicious toppings, so he has some great ideas for building the perfect flavours for Spring. With Colin’s tips, your homemade pizzas will soon rival anything your local Italian restaurant can deliver.

Clarissa – Red Curry Prawn Skewers With Pineapple & Cucumber Salad
With a marinade featuring coconut cream and red curry paste, Clarissa’s grilled prawn skewers recipe is delicious. Not letting anything go to waste, Clarissa makes a beautiful dipping sauce from the leftovers of the marinade, so don’t throw anything away. If you’re not a fan of seafood though, chicken, beef or even tofu can be substituted in as the protein. And if that wasn’t enough, this dish is beautifully complemented by tasty salad so fresh it can cleanse your palette to get your mouth ready for more prawn skewers.

Dr Harry – TV Barker Cavoodle
After a hard day at work there’s nothing like curling up on the couch with your fur baby to unwind in front of the TV. But it can be anything but relaxing when 5-year-old Cavoodle
Alfie, goes crazy, jumping up and down, growling and running around whenever he sees other dogs on the TV. Can Dr Harry help Alfie’s family before he sends them barking mad?

Charlie – The Art In Edging
From one year to another your garden is ever evolving and changing with plants growing into each other and obscuring parts of your lawn. Pruning is one way to keep the garden’s shape and look, but the easiest and best way to keep your garden and lawn separate is through a physical barrier like garden edging. Charlie will run through the how and why of edging and the different types you can use for different situations, depending on whether you just need something practical or one that’s attractive too.

Juliet – Game On!
As the weather warms up, it’s time to start using your deck for family barbecues, parties and maybe even games nights. After a long winter, the deck can look a little under the weather though, so Juliet is going to show you a quick and easy way to give it a refresh. But the one ingredient that make games night, is the games, so Juliet will also show you how to make a few games the whole family will enjoy.

Adam – Not Ice! Steam That Bruise
In one of life’s great hacks, Adam is going to show you how to repair small dents and bruises from timber. It’s a surprisingly easy job, so next time you accidentally drop something heavy on table or floorboard, there’s no need to worry!

7pm Friday on Seven.
