The Girls
Eilisha
QLD 25 Support Worker
Fiery and full of life, Eilisha always has something to say and isn’t afraid to say it. But while she might be the loudest in the group, she is a softie at heart. She moved to Brisbane five years ago from Sydney and loves the lifestyle in the Sunshine State. Eilisha has never struggled to get a boyfriend. In fact since she was 14 she has barely been out of a relationship. She broke up with her last boyfriend just over six months ago, after he broke her trust. Elisha wants nothing more than to find a man, settle down, and have kids. Love Island Australia might be an unconventional place to find that, but if there’s a man with muscles, she’s ready to make it work.
How are you feeling about going on Love Island Australia?
I’m definitely nervous, but very excited and ready to get in there.
What made you want to go on it?
I’ve been watching the show for years, it’s one of my all-time favourites. It does work, you can definitely find love, so I thought, why not? I think it’s going to be a great experience whether I find love or not, something I can tell my kids about. I’m so grateful.
What’s your relationship history like?
I’ve always had a boyfriend. My first relationship was when I was 14. About six months ago I broke up with my most recent partner. I don’t think I’ve been single for more than a year.
What are you looking for in a man? Honestly, someone who matches my level, as I can be a bit much. Someone who is interesting and funny, someone who can make me laugh. I can make people laugh, but I want someone to make me laugh too. If I really like someone’s personality I will go for that, but they can’t be skinny and they have to have muscles. I want to be treated like a princess.
Xanthe
NSW 21 Property Stylist
Cute AF, Xanthe applied for Love Island Australia not expecting to get on, so when she got the call she was overjoyed. Xanthe lives in Sydney with her father and sister, and comes from a large and supportive family. Her mother is of Malaysian/Chinese background, while her father is Lebanese/Australian. She has had one serious relationship with an older man that fizzled out – they broke up last December. She is looking for a tall and confident man who can laugh, a man who isn’t shy or afraid to say what he wants. Xanthe adores her job as a property stylist and can see herself doing it for years. In her spare time she doesn’t mind having a go at figure skating, since discovering it on TikTok.
How are you feeling about going on Love Island Australia?
I’m excited but nervous too. I don’t know what to expect.
What made you apply?
One of my close friends applied last year and didn’t get on. At the time I was with my boyfriend and I didn’t apply. But this year I am single, and I thought why not? When I applied I didn’t think I had any chance. Then I got the call, and here I am.
How long were you with your boyfriend?
Two and a half years. I was mentally checked out by the time we broke up. He was a lot older than me, and that’s why it didn’t work out. I didn’t really know who I was at 18, and as I got a bit older I knew we weren’t compatible.
What are you looking for in a man?
Someone who is really funny and confident. I don’t like shy guys. As cute as it is, you can be shy and sweet, but that’s not what does it for me. I need someone confident and a bit cocky. I feel like most guys on this show will be like this. I love athletic guys.
Mimi
NSW 25 Creative/Model
Mimi grew up in Wellington, New Zealand, before moving to London and eventually settling in Sydney. Bold and ambitious, she runs the fashion label called EFFN with her ex-boyfriend. They split up two years ago but now have a healthy working relationship. Her label has 80,000 followers on Instagram and it is her pride and joy. Mimi is a former professional dancer who trained at the famous Brent Street studio in Sydney. She has taken this love of dance to TikTok, gaining 215,000 followers. Mimi has dated professional athletes, including a former rugby league player, whom she had a “situationship” with. In the Villa she is looking for a strong man who loves a confident and ambitious girl.
What are you looking for in a man?
I want a guy with bad-boy looks and a golden retriever personality. I want to find a best friend. Someone with great energy. I need someone who is ambitious as I’m a very ambitious woman. I’m looking for the one.
Tell us about the fashion business you started with your ex-boyfriend.
Yes, EFFN started during COVID. I would never recommend starting a business with a partner, but it has worked for us. Not romantically, but we still work together and have a great personal and business relationship. It’s very healthy, but it took some time after we split up. We knew what we had with our business was really special, and we were able to separate that part of our life. It’s going great. It’s streetwear, unisex. We run it together in a small team and we do everything. I’m very grateful.
Em
NSW 26 Model/Content Creator
Full of energy and life, Em is set to make a real impact in the Villa.
She grew up outside the NSW town of Kempsey, left home at 18, and spent a couple of years in Canada. After moving back to Australia just before COVID lockdowns Em eventually found herself in Sydney. Work-wise, she says she does a bit of everything, from content creating to modelling, which she loves. She has also worked as a restaurant manager and social media manager for a hair salon. Em is ready for love but will be looking for that emotional connection first over a physical one when she enters the Villa. Outside of work, she has a black belt in karate and is a keen snowboarder.
What made you want to go on the show?
I think reality TV is fascinating, and I just want to be inside the dragon. I think it’s a great experience. Not many people have the opportunity to do it, so why would you say no?
What about love, are you open to finding someone special? Of course. I am definitely open to love. I’m a little sceptical and a little weary, but excited to see who I am going to meet. I have dated the most random people ever, so who knows what will happen on the show. An emotional connection is very important to me from the very beginning. If there is no emotional connection, it won’t work.
When you first go in, are you going to get to know everyone or do you fall quickly?
I think I will definitely get to know everyone. I feel like I struggle with initial attraction, so that’s why that emotional connection is important. I think for me a physical connection comes after an emotional connection.
What are your friends and family going to think about you being on the show?
They are going to have a laugh.
Hannah
VIC 24 Nursing Student
Of all the cast it’s Hannah who had her mind set on making it into the Villa on Love Island Australia. Since the age of 18 she has been told by family and friends that she’d be perfect for the show, and she agrees! Hannah might look like a typical “blonde bimbo with fake everything”, but she is nothing like that stereotype. Hannah, a student nurse who also works as a part-time lash technician, finds the Melbourne dating scene tough. She is old-fashioned and wants to get to know a man who isn’t obsessed with Instagram.
You were determined to go on Love Island Australia, so what excites you so much about making
it? I’ve loved the show for years. I applied last year and got knocked back, so I thought it wasn’t meant to be. Then this year I made it, pictured life in the Villa, and here I am.
What is it about the show that appeals to you?
I want to go somewhere to meet a guy where there is no social media and you actually have to get to know someone. The Love Island Villa is perfect for that.
What do your family and friends think of you being on the show?
I have been told ever since I was 18 that I’d be perfect for Love Island. Everyone says I look like an Islander. When I was younger I didn’t have much self confidence, but this year I walked into the interview and said I will see you in the Villa.
The Boys
Niko
NSW 28 Builder
Our resident buffed builder lives in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs with his parents, he’s ready to move out as soon as he finds his perfect girl. Niko’s heritage is Greek. His grandparents were born in Greece and family is incredibly important to him. He has his own building business and sometimes works seven days a week. In recent years he got seriously into the gym, and could be described as Love Island Australia’s first Greek god. He loves spending a couple of hours in the gym after a busy day at work, but always finds time for girls. He had his heart broken by one of his exes who cheated on him. After that he went on a dating spree, and he has no trouble meeting or conversing with women. Sometimes he might have three dates a week.
How did your Love Island Australia journey start?
I was joking around with my sister and I applied. I’ve never applied for anything like this, so I was surprised when I got on. Why do you think your mates and family think you would be perfect for this show? I think it’s my look. I work hard at taking care of my body. I am good with girls, I can always hold a conversation. All the dates I’ve been on since I was young, I’ve never had a problem.
What does it take for you to go from a date to something more serious?
I have to have that physical and emotional connection straight away. We have to have good banter, that will get me straight away interested, and I fall quickly.
What’s your background in relationships?
I have had two relationships before. One was for two years, and the other one was just under that. I’ve seen a lot of girls, in terms of just having fun. I could settle down now easily.
Dylan
NSW 25 Construction Worker
Our hot Irish hunk, Dylan has a heart of gold and is easy on the eye. He arrived in Australia last year and fell in love with the place, and if things work out, he would like to build a future here with a wife. He loves an Aussien accent and Australian women, as they are so forward and bold. Dylan grew up in a small town in rural Ireland and has a Nigerian father and Irish mother. With all the tatts he might look like a bad boy, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. He knows people might judge a book by its cover, but Dylan describes himself as a down-to-earth fella who isn’t scared of a relationship. In fact, he thrives on it. He drives a truck in the construction business, but his main love is fitness and he hopes to work as a coach down the track. “Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would end up on Love Island Australia. I’m so thankful for the opportunity,” he said
How are you feeling about being in Australia and on the show?
Really excited, it’s something I never thought I would do when I arrived. But when I got the call to be confirmed on the show, I thought why not?
What made you say yes?
I think it will be a great experience. I love meeting new people. Maybe I’ll find a potential wife. I think there is no better place to do it than Love Island.
What are you looking for in a woman?
Someone with a great personality who matches my lifestyle. Someone who is very active, values and wants a family, as that is a huge part of my life. Someone grounded, with good morals.
Have you had many relationships?
I’ve had two before. I think I’m a relationship kind of person, so it’s the right time to find a girl now. The longest relationship I have had was two years.
Zane
Qld 24 Civil Construction Worker
Tall, muscular with tattoos and handsome, Zane looks like a heartthrob, but underneath he has a sweetness about him the girls will swoon after. Living on the Gold Coast, he has no problems picking up, but hasn’t found that perfect girl. Super sporty, Zane played rugby league at a top level for years before giving up in 2022 after it became too demanding. He is a qualified plumber who works in civil construction and is studying to be a personal trainer, which is not surprising if you look at his biceps. Zane loves hanging out with the boys on a Friday or Saturday night, but he is ready to change those habits and meet the girl of his dreams in the Villa.
How are you feeling about being on Love Island Australia?
I didn’t want to get my hopes up, but now that it’s real it’s very exciting.
What made you want to go on the show?
A lot of people say that I would be really good on the show, but I went away for work for a couple of months and my sister told me she had signed me up for the audition process. She had a full PowerPoint presentation. I thought I’d go along with it, and here we are.
Are you looking for love?
I’m not looking for it, but I am very open for love. When I was younger I was looking for a girlfriend and nothing ever came of it. So now my attitude is someone will come into my life when it’s the right time.
What kind of girl are you looking for?
Just someone who can have good old banter. Someone who is funny and driven. Someone who is into fitness would be a bonus too. A good smile, a nice bum.
Indigo
Qld 23 Sales Manager
When Indigo isn’t at the gym or at work, travelling as a sales manager for a 4WD accessory company, you can find him playing sports like golf. He goes to the gym six times a week – and a little known fact: he can juggle and is a master of the worm. A gentle giant, Indigo has a big family, with brothers who are very important to him. He’s had one serious relationship that ran its course and now he is ready to find the one. If not, he is looking forward to asummer of fun in Mallorca. With a big smile, he is likely to be very popular in the Villa in Spain.
Why do you want to go on Love Island Australia?
I think it’s going to be a fun experience. I’m super excited to get in there and give it a crack. Whether I come out with someone or not, at least I gave it go. You never know, I might find a wife and a mother to my kids.
What are you looking for in a girl?
Someone that is kind and has similar values to me. Someone into the gym, a healthy person, who doesn’t like to party all the time. Someone who just wants to do life with me and have fun.
Have you had relationships before?
One that lasted six years. We were together from high school. It was great, but we had different goals in life so it ended.
Are you ready now to get into another relationship?
One hundred per cent. Now I know what I want. It makes it a lot easier to figure out who is right and who is not, so I’m ready now.
Kane
SA 23 Carpenter
Our resident AFL footy boy, Kane is always smiling and is extremely likable. He doesn’t have enemies, he likes to make everyone around him happy. He has a lovely Aussie charm and won’t have any issues making friends with the girls or the boys in the Villa. Kane lives at home with his family, and has two brothers and two sisters. His mother watches Love Island Australia with one of his sisters, and jokes that she will be watching at all times. Kane hasn’t had a girlfriend before, and while he has played the field, he just hasn’t found the right one yet. So he is ready to give love a red-hot crack.
What are you looking forward to?
Obviously the girls. I’m the kind of person who also loves the sun and summer, so being in Spain at this time of year will be nice. Also I’m looking forward to making friends with the boys. It’ll be nice to do an overseas trip.
How would you describe your personality?
I’m a very happy person. I’m always trying to make everyone around me happy as well. I’m always smiling.
What are you looking for in a girl?
In terms of looks, I go for both blondes and brunettes. And someone I can have a really good laugh with.
You’ve never had a relationship?
Not yet. I just haven’t found the one that would be good for me.
Week One Bombs
Sophie
Qld 22 Enrolled Nurse
With a bubbly personality, Sophie is the perfect choice to be our first female Bomb in the Love Island Australia Villa. She just missed out on making the cast last year, and while devastated, everything happens for a reason – she is set to make a huge impact this year. Sophie has a type, namely athletes, and she is friends with lots of NRL players. She also has an existing relationship with someone already in the Villa. They have caught up regularly over the years and all eyes will be on these two if that connection continues in the Villa.
How are you feeling about going on Love Island Australia?
I’m probably 90 per cent excited, 10 per cent nervous.
What excites you?
Once I’m in there I can be myself and do my thing and show people who I am.
How would you describe your personality?
Very bubbly. I’m so chatty, sometimes too much. Super-flirty and over the top.
Tell us about going into the US Love Island Games.
It was an awesome though nervous experience where I got to see how Love Island works. I’ll be a lot more at ease on the Australian show because I know how to do it now. That was a practice run.
How do you feel about being the first Bomb this year?
It’s a big deal. I think it’s a great position to be in. I’ve got the power, though walking in alone might bendaunting.
What are you looking for in a man?
A best friend. Someone I can bounce off, have a lot of banter with. Someone who can get up and go for anwalk with me. I want someone who can match my energy.
What about previous relationships?
I had one for three years on and off. We broke up two and half years ago, and I’ve been casually dating since because I haven’t found the one.
What kind of guy do you go for?
Normally a guy with tatts, muscles, and someone who is tall. I like good teeth, a nice smile. I usually go for brunettes. The only types I’m usually not attracted to are blondes.
Taylor
Vic 28 Stevedore
Taylor was one of the standouts on Channel 9’s The Summit earlier this year. Living in Melbourne, he works on the docks as a stevedore, which has a tough-guy job stereotype, but he has a heart of gold. Growing up as a keen sportsman, he excelled in rugby league and moved from the Gold Coast to Melbourne to be part of the Melbourne Storm NRL development squad. He ended up losing his passion for the sport at the high level and turned his eye to other things, including part-time modeling. After filming The Summit, Taylor’s 3 year relationship ended. While it might be hard to let down his guard again so soon, Taylor knows he is ready. He will go into the Villa as the first male Bomb, and he will immediately turn heads.
How does it feel being on Love Island Australia?
I’m very excited and feeling pretty good. It was a big thing for me to say yes but now I’m fully embracing it.
Two reality shows in one year, eh?
That’s right, and two completely different shows. It will be good to show people two sides of me. People have seen the more serious competitive side, but this will be different.
Did you enjoy doing The Summit?
I loved it. I made it pretty far and made friends for life and did some amazing things that money can’t buy. I learnt a lot about myself and when I left The Summit I felt like a different man. I wouldn’t have been able to handle the break-up if I hadn’t gone through so much on The Summit. It taught me to back myself and be proud of who I am.
What do you want now in a relationship?
I just want loyalty, respect, love and affection. I want someone who is family-orientated and wants a family.
The Love Island Gods
Sydney
USA 24 Influencer/Model
Firecracker Sydney isn’t new to the Love Island format, she made it to the finale of the 2022 US Season. Sydney arrived in the US Villa on day one and was the runner-up, meeting her then boyfriend. The pair lasted for nearly a year before breaking up. Since then she has developed a huge profile online, with 250,000 followers on Instagram and nearly 75,000 on TikTok. She has also built up a career as an influencer and a model. Sydney hopes to find the Australian man of her dreams and is open to moving Down Under if that happens. She wants a man who can match her fierceness and isn’t afraid to show emotion.
Excited to be going on Love Island Australia?
I am. Love Island in the States came at a perfect time in my life, and this is a perfect time again. When I left home to come to Spain it was my one-year anniversary of being single. You met your boyfriend Isaiah on the American show?Yes, we fell in love from the show. It was very real for me. He messed up of course and I had to leave him.
What excites you about meeting Australian men on the show?
Every guy I have been with since I left my boyfriend has been foreign. I just love foreign men. I feel like this is my redemption era. I’ve never been so fit, more confident. It’s like I’m ready to rewrite my story.
What are you looking for?
I’m a pretty funny person, so I need someone who is funny too. Someone who has blunt humour. I need that. I want someone who loves my craziness, who loves every part of me. I want a man who makes me feel confident about myself, a man I can go to for advice. Also, he has to be honest and hot.
Steph
France 25 Model
A veteran of the Love Island format, Steph appeared on the French version in 2023, before joining the cast of Love Island Games in Fiji. There he met former Australian Islander Jessica Losurdo before being dumped from the show. Although that relationship didn’t make it, he knows what to expect when dating an Aussie woman, and he loves it. Steph played professional basketball but is now focusing on his modelling and influencer life. He has no issues with a long-distance relationship and has had one before. Steph has 128,000 followers on Instagram and 218,000 on TikTok.
What was your experience like on the French version of Love Island?
That was good but I preferred Love Island Games. I think because the French Islanders weren’t as open as the Americans and the Australians. I still had a great time though.
What do you like about Australian girls?
The ones I have met are so beautiful. I think the most beautiful girls in the world. They have beautiful skin, beautiful eyes, beautiful faces.
Are you looking forward to meeting the guys too?
I speak to everyone – I can’t wait. I think the most important thing is to get to know everyone, and then form your own opinion. I am a very social person.
Love Isand screens 6pm AEDT Monday – Thursday on 9Now (plus 8:40pm Monday 28, Tuesday 29 Oct on Nine then 8:30pm Wednesday Oct 30, 9pm Thursday on 9GO!)
