A woman who was attacked by a shark about 200km off the coast of Queensland had to be rescued by a navy ship and transported back to land.
The woman, aged in her 50s, was snorkelling yesterday afternoon when she was bitten by a shark and needed to return to her boat.
Queensland Ambulance Service said the woman sustained large lacerations during the attack.

The ship HMAS Warramunga diverted from its path during a training exercise in the Whitsundays region to help the woman.
It is understood staff on board gave the woman immediate first aid on board and took her back to mainland Queensland at Mackay Harbour about 12.30am today.

Mackay Hospital and Health Service confirmed the woman is being treated at Mackay Base Hospital and is in a stable condition.
