Will interview show The ABC Of return to screens?
Not anytime soon, according to host David Wenham, who has previously sat down with Garry McDonald, Ita Buttrose, Germaine Greer, Wil Anderson, Jack Thompson, Miranda Tapsell, Ian Chappell and more.
“You’d have to speak to the ABC about that,” Wenham tells TV Tonight. “When you get the answer, speak to me. Last time I heard it was ‘We’ll get back to you!’
“So send me a message!” he added.
It follows the host jumping the gun last August when he tweeted the show had not been recomissioned, which triggered a flurry of disappointed responses on social media.
Last year Chief Content Officer Chris Oliver-Taylor said no decision had been made on a third season.
“It’s a fantastic show,” he said. “Season Two didn’t do as well as Season One, for whatever reason. I think we’re looking at the balance of interviews across our slate. It’s an evergreen show. I think that will definitely come back. It’s just a case of does it comeback in ’24 or ’25?”
Not 2024 it seems….
